This is a mausoleum complex commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to remains of his beloved wife and it takes 20-years period on the southern bank of the Yamuna river in Agra, India, and this complex is one of the outstanding examples of Mughal architecture, which combined Indian, Persian and Islamic influence. Its center is the Taj Mahal itself, built of shimmering white marble that seems to change the color depending on the daylight. This was designed by the UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983, it remains one of the most celebrated structures and a stunning symbol of India’s rich history. It attracts 6-7 million visitors a year, it is also declared the winner of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

Taj Mahal Inspiration
This was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631, to be built in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died on 17 June that year, when she was giving birth to hit 14th child, Gauhara Begum. The construction of its started in 1632, and the mausoleum was completed in 1648, but the surrounding buildings and gardens were finished five years later.
Exterior or decoration
